Is it legal to scrape the Google Play Store?

Yes — an app page anyone can open is public data. Every listing is published for the whole world to read, and we read it the way a visitor does. What you do with it afterwards is on you. More in our guide to the legality of scraping.

Do I need a Google account?

No login, no cookie, no Chrome extension. Nothing to sync, nothing to install, no account of yours to put at risk. Paste an app URL or type a keyword and the crawler is away — rarer than it sounds for a store this size.

What data do I get for each app?

55 data points per app. Developer, contact email and address, category, price and currency, in-app purchase range, installs, score and the full star breakdown, screenshots, version, changelog, content rating and its chart ranking.

How fast is it?

About 240 apps a minute. No browser to wait on and no page to paint — it reads Google Play directly. A shelf of five hundred competitors is catalogued before your coffee goes cold.

What can I paste in as the input?

Four things, and it works out which one you gave it. An app URL, a bare package id like com.whatsapp, a Play Store search URL, or a plain keyword such as vpn or photo editor. Mix all four in the same list if you like.

How many apps does one keyword bring back?

Thirty — the first page Google Play serves. That is everything the public search page exposes, so nobody gets more from it. Want deeper coverage? Run several keywords, or feed the app URLs and package ids straight in.

Can I collect the reviews as well?

Yes — Collect Reviews adds a row per review under each app. Author, star rating, text, thumbs up, date, app version and the developer's reply. Leave it off and you get one clean row per app, nothing underneath.

Can I filter and sort those reviews?

Yes — by star rating, by order and by date. Star Rating keeps one rating and nothing else, Review Sort Order picks Most relevant, newest or highest rated, and Newer than stops each app as soon as it reaches an older review.

Which country and language does the data come from?

Country sets the storefront, Language sets the words. Country decides the price, currency and availability on the app row. Language sets the description and, since Google Play groups reviews by the language they were written in, which reviews arrive.
