Chrome extension

Connect your LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, X, Instagram, Facebook or Leboncoin account to lobstr.io, confirming each sync, or from your code. The extension syncs your session; the scrapers do the rest, in the cloud.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add the extension to Chrome

Follow the illustrated installation guide. It works in Chrome and every Chromium browser.

  2. 2

Log in to the site as you always do

LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, X, Instagram, Facebook or Leboncoin: your usual account, in your browser.

  3. 3

    Connect it from lobstr.io

In Accounts, click Connect account, then confirm in the extension window: it sends that site’s session, and your scrapers run with it.

From your code or your agent

No extension needed: send the site’s cookies through the API. Your agent lists your accounts and attaches one to a squid through the MCP server.

  1. 1

Find the cookies a site needs

    curl https://api.lobstr.io/v1/account_types \
      -H "Authorization: Token $LOBSTR_API_KEY"
  2. 2

    Sync the account with them

    curl -X POST https://api.lobstr.io/v1/accounts/cookies \
      -H "Authorization: Token $LOBSTR_API_KEY" \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
      -d '{"type": "linkedin-sync", "cookies": {"li_at": "..."}}'
  3. 3

Follow it, then give it to a squid

    curl https://api.lobstr.io/v1/synchronize/$SYNC_ID \
      -H "Authorization: Token $LOBSTR_API_KEY"

    curl -X POST https://api.lobstr.io/v1/squids/$SQUID_ID \
      -H "Authorization: Token $LOBSTR_API_KEY" \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
      -d '{"accounts": ["$ACCOUNT_ID"]}'

What is synced

Synced

  • The site’s cookies and headers

What the scrapers need to run as you on that site.

  • Only the site you pick

One account at a time, and only after you confirm it in the extension window.

  • To your lobstr.io account only

Used by the squids you attach it to, nowhere else.

Never

  • Your password

You log in on the site itself; lobstr.io never sees it.

  • Your other tabs and sites

Nothing outside the site you sync.

  • What you browse

The extension scrapes nothing; the scrapers run in the cloud.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about the extension. More in the help center.

Setup

What does the extension do?

It copies your logged-in session on a site (its cookies and headers) to your lobstr.io account, so a scraper can collect what you see when logged in. It collects nothing itself: the scraping runs in the cloud.

Which scrapers need it?

The ones that use an account, on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, X, Instagram, Facebook and Leboncoin: you pick it in the squid. Every other scraper works without one.

Do I need technical skills?

No. Follow the illustrated installation guide, then confirm each sync in the extension window; no developer tools, no copying cookies by hand.

Is the extension free?

Yes. Installing it and syncing accounts cost nothing; the scrapers spend credits as they always do.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome, and the browsers built on Chromium that install from the Chrome Web Store: Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc. Not Firefox or Safari.

Can I sync an account without the extension?

Yes, from the API: send the site’s cookies to POST /v1/accounts/cookies, follow the sync, then give the account to a squid. See Sync account in the docs.

Accounts and privacy

Can I sync several accounts?

Yes, as many as you need, on each site. You pick the account in each squid.

What if my session expires?

Log in to the site again, then in lobstr.io open Accounts and sync it once more. The squid uses the new session on its next run.

Do you see my password?

No. You log in on the site itself; the extension only reads that site’s session, never your password or your other tabs.

Is it safe for my account?

lobstr.io keeps each account under daily limits, below what the sites tolerate, and only does what the scraper needs. Use an account you own; no site guarantees zero risk.

Can I remove a synced account?

Yes, from Accounts in lobstr.io, at any time; the squids that used it stop until you pick another. You can also remove the extension from Chrome in one click.

Can my AI agent use my accounts?

Yes: through the MCP server it lists your accounts and attaches one to a squid. Syncing a new account stays with you, in the extension or the API.
